Sowmya Mahadevan is the Chief Operating Officer of Exeter Premedia Services, an ePublishing company, which provides high technology services and media support solutions to leading professional and scholarly publishers across the world.
Sowmya completed her undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering. She received several accolades during her college years including the Outstanding Student Award in the final year and the Best Student Award in the third year. She then went on to do her Masters in Electrical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon on a full research scholarship. After completion of her Masters, Sowmya joined Tek-Tools, a Dallas based startup and worked with them as a Software Engineer.
In 2006, Sowmya moved back to India to establish an Indian office for Tek-Tools. She started up the Chennai operations from scratch including setting up the office, hiring the team and training them. In 2010, Tek-Tools was acquired by Solarwinds, an Austin, USA based company and with that acquisition came the opportunity for rapid expansion for the Indian subsidiary. Sowmya successfully grew the Indian operations of Solarwinds, from 20 employees to 120 employees.
In 2016, Sowmya joined Exeter Premedia Services, as the COO and Co-Founder where she is currently spearheading the transition of the company from a traditional services company to a world-class SaaS publishing platform company.
